KOHL’S – HISTORY

The Kohl's Corporation is an American department store retailing chain.

In September 1962 Company’s first department store opened.

After 10 years it means in 1972 American Tobacco Company took a controlling interest in the company.

In 1979, the Kohl family left the management of the company.

After 1992 Kohl's was the second-largest department store by retail sales in the United States.

Firstly by owner of KOHL’S operated traditional grocery stores since 1927

Then in 1946 grocery store was converted to the supermarket.

And then 1962 it was known as Kohl's Food Stores.

Company headquarter is placed at Milwaukee suburb of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.

Now they are operating 1,162 stores in 49 states.
